So I went "shopping" today...actually just to the CCO to see what they had. I did end of getting some things, but I am being quite conservative w/ money at the moment. Its great to do a lot of haulage, but in these tough economic times, makeup isn't gonna put food on the table or pay my bills. :::Lightbulb moment::: Maybe I can start doing makeup on the side to supplement my income! Hey, everyone needs a trade...why not let it be makeup.
Anyways, I've been chillin out lately...kinda takin a break from doing videos and stuff. Honestly, I've been really uninspired and bored w/ YT lately. I love the fact that I'm able to help others with what I know about hair, makeup, beauty, and fashion, however just like with most of my hobbies, I'm kinda falling off w/ it. I've just been so busy with everything in real life, that I don't really have time for YT life. I never put myself out there as one of the "Gurus" that posted a video everyday, or even every week. I know that I will soon get re-inspired, and that I'll be excited to post, but right now its not on my list of priorities. Also, I've been checking out some new gurus, as well as some that I've been subscribed to for a while. The new ones are great! I say this in part, because they are actual real professional makeup artists. I'm not saying that I don't have any faith in amateurs or that I don't respect what they are doing, or rather trying to do. I just feel that at this point I really want to learn more about technique, than what color eyeshadow or blush someone got that day. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the occasional haul video, and even do them myself every once in a while. However, I'm just not into people who are always "hauling", and tend to do more of those types of videos than actual makeup tutorials. Also, I'm not into people who just because they have a lot of subscribers think they are a professional. It like when some "gurus" hit that magic arbitrary number of subscribers, they start thinking that they are an actual professional, with somehow years of experience. Now, not to contradict myself, because I previously stated that maybe doing makeup on the side could be an option for me, but I'm not attempting to approach others with this idea, nor do I feel like I come across as if I would. 90% of the people doing tutorials(of all kinds) on YT are amateurs, and that's cool, it just the ones that appear, in my opinion, to be 'know-it-alls' that are annoying to me. Sadly, these are some of the people that I am currently subscribed, but at the time I subscribed to them, they weren't like that. I hope that if I ever get to the point where I seem like a 'know-it-all', that those that really respect what I do will be honest and tell me, even if it gets to me. I guess I just really needed to get that off my chest, b/c it'd been something that had been in the back of my mind for a while.
