Swatches > OPI | Russian Navy Suede

Follow my blog with bloglovin

What more can I say about this gorgeous color!  I love the suede finish.  Its matte without being too matte and has a sheen to it that really livens it up.

Now to the pics:

Swatches > Essence | Underwater

Underwater is a really pretty bright, almost royal blue ocean water shade.  I picked it up at Ulta for just  $1, and I have to say I'm not underwhelmed by this shade.  It applied pretty good ,but did take about three coats to get the achieved look in the pics.  I'm not a fan of doing three coats, so I'd have to say that was one of the only downsides to this polish.  Its a cheaper polish, so you have to expect that the formula isn't going to be a good as some of your more expensive polishes.  Nonetheless, I really liked how it looked on it, but it was short lived.  As with all blues, greens, and reds I found that it stained my fingers when removing it and that some of my nails, for some reason, just refused to dry completely so there were finger prints and smudges.  It could have been a lack of patience on my part, but again I really despise having to apply more than 2 coats of any polish, except for glitters of course.

Swatches > Sinful Colors | Rise & Shine

So at first sight you'd think Rise & Shine was dead ringer for Four Leaf Clover, but actually while its a good dupe, its not identical.  Rise & Shine is a gorgeous color, and for $2 a pop you can't beat having a great green.  My pics didn't really pick up the slight bit of shimmer that Rise & Shine has in it, but even with out the shimmer its still a really pretty color.

Application-wise, I'm rarely dissappintied with Sinful Colors formulas, and this one was no exception.  I had no problems getting a smooth and coated application with just two coats.  I used Seche Vite as my top coat of course...and that's pretty much it!  I included a comparision pic of Four Leaf Clover also.

Swatches > OPI | Ink

Ink is a really pretty purplish-blueish color.  To me, it came out better in pics with flash than it even looks in really life.  In person it was super dark and you really couldn't see much of the blue hue of it.  I had a time applying it, for the simple fact that it was a mini that was a free gift with a purchase at Ulta.  I'm not sure if I'd add the regular size to my collection, but it was definitely nice to at least be able to try it out.

Also, Ink, as you can tell from the pics has some shimmer in it, though it is not overwhelming.  It does add that extra pop to the shade, making it stand apart from your typical dark purple.

The formula was pretty smooth, which it common with OPI polishes, so no surprises there.  The top coat is the OPI top coat, which I do no fancy at all.  I'll definitely use Seche Vite or ChG Fast Forward next time around.  Nonetheless, it did give of a shiny look, it just didn't dry as well as Seche Vite or ChG Fast Forward.

Swatches > Color Club | Take Me To Your Chateau & Si Vous Please!

So even though Take Me To Your Chateau is a pretty, milky, robbins egg color I had to jazz it up with Si Vous Please to add some sparkle.  I thought it was a cute look, but my boyfriend say differently.  On the way home from work, I was showing him how beat up my nails were when I just painted them last night and he said "I don't like that color, it looks weird."  LOL...he rarely comments about my makeup or nail polish, so when he does its usually really funny to me.

Although I liked Take Me To Your Chateau to wear it on my fingers, I'm not sure when I'll be wearing it again.  It might go into the "toenail stash".  Its a fun color, but it might be a little to milky looking for the likes of me.  Si Vous Please is just another jelly glitter polish to definitely be worn over a polish, doesn't do anything for me at all.  It has silver, green, and blue glitters in it, so it complimented Take Me To Your Chateau very well.

Swatches > Ulta Salon Formula | Alter Ego

This is a really awesome color.  Its a really cool shimmer finish metallic blue, not to bright, not too dark.  It applied wonferfully, in the sense that it wasn't streaky or thin.  Most of the time I'm not inclined to to even try out metallics, but I couldn't pass up this color!  Also, it was only $2, so that was even more reason for it to become a part of my nail polish collection.

The pictures are pretty accurate as far color, especially the first one.  I absolutely loved this shade and formula, for one bcause its super wearable and an all-around pretty color.  If you haven't tried out any of the Ulta Salon Formula polishes, this would be a really good time, because they're on sale for super cheap ($2).  I think Ulta will be running the sale for another week also.

Size: 0.4 fl oz./ 11.8 mL

Used Orly Glosser as top coat.

Oooh and in other words, just saw that Ulta has a new Matte top coat and its $2 too.  I know matte is more of a Fall/Winter look, but I think I'm gonna try it out.  I love the Matte look, so I'll be rocking it year, lol!  I think Alter ego would look really awesome matted out.  Hmm...note to self:  Next time nails are painted w/ Alter Ego use Ulta Matte Top Coat.  I'll deifnitely put up a swatch of it too.
